Activity During Natural Calamities:

During natural calamities like super cyclone and flood our organisation has done tremendous relief and rescue work. The main work during super cyclone and flood were rescue of affected animals, their treatment, feeding, vaccination of cattles, provide emergency shelter in different parts of the affected areas. Govt. of Orissa has also involved us in different affected areas especially animal care activities. Our people could able to reach the cut off areas to feed the animals and their treatment. Our organisation has also received award as best NGO on animal care from Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Orissa in a special occasion.

The Northen part of Orissa, India is very badly affected by Flood. In this flood lakhs of animals are affected in Balasore and Mayurbhanj district of Northen Orissa. People for Animals started relief work for animals in various parts of affected areas. Emergency treatment and vaccination work is going on. Besides animal feeding is also provided to the affected animals. Many villages are marooned where our volunteers, veterinarians, live stock inspectors reaching and helping the animals. The animals affected are mostly farm animals on whom the people of these areas are depending for their livelihood. The aim of our organization is to help the animals affected in this flood. But simultaneously we are also helping the people depending on these animals for their livelihood. So ultimately Animal Welfare is always human welfare.
